Outside Sales Representative, Knapheide Truck Equipment Center, Portland, Or

General Description:

Meet booking goals by developing and maintaining monthly customer contacting schedule. Develop conquest accounts by establishing first and follow up appointments with customer decision makers. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Complete scheduled and cold call prospecting activities
  2. Utilize the company’s Customer Resource Management System (CRM) on a daily basis, scheduling and documenting activities, and developing prospective customer profiles.
  3. Prepare and deliver sales proposals/presentations
  4. Follow up with key decision makers.
  5. Identify leads, manage prospects and acquire new business.
  6. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of Knapheide’s Products, services, and pricing structure.
  7. Meet or exceed the new business sales goals.
  8. Determine customer needs and propose appropriate equipment solutions.
  9. Quote Customers as required
  10. Adhere to Knapheide Company general employee Rules and Standards
  11. Be proficient with company quoting software
  12. Be proficient with company portal applications
  13. Be proficient in KTEC-Midsouth website operation
  14. Should be capable of teaching customers to navigate website
  15. Be knowledgeable of all KTEC-Midsouth and Manufacturing Promotions
  16. Be knowledgeable in how to apply
  17. Acquire required documentation for new accounts
  18. Manage Pool Chassis Holds (when applicable)
  19. Acquire Dealer Request (when applicable)
  20. Provide dealer with needed information
  21. Regularly meet with Sales Management to review sales activities, progress on goals, and status of prospective customers.
  22. Maintain assigned vehicle
  23. Maintain appropriate literature to provide customer when calling on them
  24. Maintain appropriate dress to insure a professional appearance whenever representing the company.
  25. Complete and process Expense reports regularly
  26. Adhere to company safety guidelines
  27. Regular and predictable attendance.
  28. Ability to interact with others.

Preferred Training and Experience:

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers
  2. Excellent computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel and Outlook)
  3. Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
  4. Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices

Physical Demands: 

  1. Normal standing, walking, bending and twisting as necessary to perform job duties.
  2. Exposed to normal seasonal temperatures.
  3. Lifting/moving up to 50 pounds

Education/Certification Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Minimum four year college degree or equivalent job-related experience
  3. Valid Driver’s License.
